Critical Research Institute is an independent research organization. We exist to answer hard questions carefully, across disciplines, for clients who need evidence they can defend.

What we believe

The question comes first. A study that answers the wrong question precisely is worse than useless. We spend real time at the start making sure we are measuring what matters.

Methods are public before results are. Protocols and analysis plans are fixed and shared with the client before data collection. This protects the findings from us as much as from anyone.

Uncertainty is part of the answer. Every report states how confident we are and why. A confident wrong answer is the most expensive product a research firm can sell.

One standard, every discipline. Whether the subject is a wastewater plant, a training program, or a machine-learning model, the same rules for design, data handling, and reporting apply.

The systems that make our findings reliable.

Written protocols

Every study has one. Changes are versioned and dated. Deviations are logged with a reason.

Ethics review

Human-subjects research goes through an independent IRB. Environmental and field work follows applicable permits and safety plans.

Data integrity

Chain of custody for samples, audit trails for databases, and version control for analysis code.

Independent QA

A quality reviewer who did not work on the study checks methods, data, and conclusions before release.

Conflict of interest

Disclosed and managed in writing. We decline work where independence cannot be maintained.

Reproducibility

Analyses are packaged so a qualified third party can rerun them from raw data to final tables.
